The Boomerang Ex: The True Reasons Behind Why An Ex Comes Back To You
Do you know how many times I’ve heard a woman brag about having that “good good” because an ex-boyfriend came sniffing around long after the breakup? I currently have a couple of former lovers, who check on me from time to time. When I was younger, I also fell into the egotistical trap of thinking this meant something. It was an ego-boost. I erroneously believed that they were testing out the waters. Trying to see how likely it was that I would be open to reuniting. Sometimes, I thought it was the prequel to the pending grand love declaration where they prostrate themselves before me, conveying remorse at the way things ended and demanding a second chance at my heart. In reality, an ex coming back is not remotely as dramatic or even close to this meaningful.
Exes come back, simply because they can. That’s it. It has absolutely nothing to do with love or destiny. When you love someone, you stick around for the long haul. You don’t shuffle in and out of someone’s life because things got too difficult and you need a break. Relationships are not easy. They take work and dedication. They are about a commitment to working on areas of development together. So when you decide to end a relationship, it should be because you simply can not see a path forward together.
